Kazakhstan is exploring the possibility of resuming air service with Armenia, Minister of Economy Serik Jumangarin told journalists, Sputnik Kazakhstan reports.

According to the official, one of the main problems is the high cost of services at Yerevan airport. He noted that the service fee amounts to about $65 per passenger and $1,248 per ton of aviation fuel.

“Right now, the discussion is about how this could somehow be subsidized. Under these conditions, both SCAT and FlyArystan are ready to launch flights,” Jumangarin said.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is currently in Kazakhstan on an official visit.
