Kazakhstan MFA: Almaty talks will be held between Armenia and Azerbaijan, no Kazakhstan’s mediation

The upcoming talks in Almaty will be held exclusively between Armenia and Azerbaijan without Kazakhstan’s mediation. The Kazakh Foreign Ministry disclosed the details of the upcoming meeting, Sputnik Kazakhstan reports.

According to Kazakh Foreign Ministry spokesperson Aybek Smadiyarov, “Astana is providing goodwill services, the so-called good offices; that is, it will provide a platform for talks.”

“If these two countries sign a peace agreement in our country, it will have a huge positive effect for the whole region,” he said.
