Armenia has not taken legal action to suspend membership in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Kazakh Deputy Foreign Minister Roman Vassilenko said on Thursday.

“De facto, we are seeing Armenia’s statement on the suspension of its participation in the CSTO. However, as far as I know, Armenia has not taken any legal action to suspend its membership in the CSTO. That is, de jure, Armenia does not suspend its membership in the CSTO,” Kaz TAG quotes Vassilenko as saying.   According to Vassilenko, the organization will continue to exist even after one of the countries quits. He also added that the CSTO plays a crucial role for the security of Kazakhstan.
