The Kremlin considers Armenia’s decision to ratify the Rome Statute, which allows arresting the Russian President if he is on the territory of the country, “extremely hostile” towards Russia, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

“These kinds of decisions are extremely hostile for us. Armenia is well aware that we are not parties to the Rome Statute, and Armenia is well aware of the decision [of the International Criminal Court to issue an arrest warrant for President Vladimir Putin], adopted on the basis of this statute. This is not something we welcome,” the Kremlin spokesperson said.

Peskov added that Russian President Vladimir Putin is not planning a visit to Armenia.
