Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov commented on the statement of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan about Azerbaijan’s preparation for war, saying that he was not aware of this and that statements about readiness for a peace treaty were officially made, RIA Novosti reported.
It should be noted that during a meeting of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Yerevan on Saturday, Pashinyan said that Armenia sees a threat of a new escalation due to the concept of “Western Azerbaijan” promoted by Baku. He also stated that Yerevan does not understand the position of Baku, which refuses to return prisoners.
“Unfortunately, I cannot say anything because I am not familiar with such statements at the state level of Azerbaijan. We have heard quite different statements by the Azerbaijani authorities, which refer to the completion of one stage and their readiness to sign a peace treaty.
Therefore, I cannot say anything specifically about this part of Mr. Pashinyan’s statements right now,” Peskov said.
