Larijani’s statements in Beirut are support for Hezbollah movement – Shahan Kandaharian

Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Larijani recently stated in Lebanon that Hezbollah is a strong bulwark against Israel and that its members are sacrificing themselves for the well-being of the Lebanese people.

According to the Supreme Council Secretary, any political movement that contributes to the well-being of the Lebanese people is beneficial. Alpha News spoke with Shahan Kandaharian, editor-in-chief of Aztag Daily, about this topic.

“Larijani held various meetings in Lebanon, including with the Prime Minister, the Speaker of the National Assembly, and the Secretary General of Hezbollah. Official reports on these meetings vary significantly. Publications about the meetings with the Speaker of Parliament and especially with the Prime Minister omit the aforementioned information. Instead, they talk about establishing peace in the region and not interfering in Lebanon’s internal affairs,” Kandaharian said.

According to him, with such statements Iran expresses its support for Hezbollah.

“This is also a message to Israel: if it unleashes actions against Iran again, the latter will continue to support Hezbollah. However, it should be noted that Iran previously provided assistance to Hezbollah through Syria, but today this route is closed,” Kandaharian emphasized.
