The liturgy in the St. Gayane Church in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin was served by a hieromonk, the last one who was forced to leave the Artsakh Dadivank monastery.

Priests of the Artsakh Diocese of the Armenian Orthodox Church also attended the ceremony under the leadership of the Supreme Patriarch. The liturgy was served by Hieromonk Derenik Sahakyan, who held his last mass at the Dadivank Monastery on September 24.

“There are no prayers being read in the churches of our Artsakh right now. These are the few minutes (or maybe even years) when Jairus’ daughter died, but the Lord raised her from the dead (Mark 5:40). Our nation must also be resurrected,” Priest Derenik said.
