Lavrov: Statements that Armenians left Karabakh due to inaction of Russian peacekeepers are incorrect

Statements that Armenians left Nagorno-Karabakh due to the inaction of Russian peacekeepers are incorrect, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview with Sputnik, Govorit Moskva and Komsomolskaya Pravda radio stations.

“It would be incorrect to say that Armenians have left Karabakh because of the inaction of our peacekeepers. I would very much like to conclude this answer with what I said at the beginning. Nikol Pashinyan said that he appreciates what Russia has done for security, economy, and sovereignty, and what we had and have in our relations should be appreciated. I hope that there will be contacts with the President [of Russia – ed.], where it will be possible to have an honest discussion without arguments from Western ill-wishers,” Lavrov said.
