Leaders of two opposition forces ready to support Vardan Ghukasyan

The leaders of two opposition forces, the Mother Armenia Alliance and the My Powerful Community Party—Andranik Tevanyan and Ruben Mkhitaryan—have announced their readiness to support former Gyumri mayor and Communist Party of Armenia candidate, Vardan Ghukasyan.

“The ball is now in the court of other opposition forces,” Tevanyan said.

“I am ready to vote for the opposition mayoral candidate, Vardan Ghukasyan, who received the highest number of votes from Gyumri residents—without any preconditions or claims to any position. As part of our City Council, I promised that if I did not win, I would support the opposition mayoral candidate who received the most votes from Gyumri residents. I am glad that I played my role in preventing the victory of this sinister ruling force in Gyumri. I believe their downfall has begun. Wisdom to all of us, and good morning to my hometown,” Mkhitaryan wrote.
