Lebanese Armenians support Church and Catholicos – Hagop Pakradouni

The current authorities of Armenia are attempting to destabilize the country, Lebanese Member of Parliament Hagop Pakradouni said in an interview with Alpha News.

According to him, for the Armenian community in Lebanon, the Church is the symbol that has preserved, continues to preserve, and will always safeguard the Armenian people.

“Within the Lebanese Armenian community, there are no people supporting this campaign. Perhaps there are some individuals who, for certain ideological reasons, support the current authorities, but their attitude toward the Church is clear: no one and nothing should touch the Church,” Pakradouni said.

In his view, any person currently in Armenia or in the Diaspora must firmly stand by the Church.

“Unfortunately, there are clergymen who, for various reasons, take a different position. But I always say: rocks withstand the pounding of the waves, while pebbles are swept away into the depths,” Pakradouni concluded.
