By participating in the elections, the Armenian community of Los Angeles defends its rights, Lena Bozoyan, Board Member of the ANCA Western Region, told Alpha News.

“The community must protect its rights by cooperating with the candidates who must give us those rights. Kathryn Barger is one of those candidates. She not only talks, but also acts. We support such candidates. We urge our compatriots to register and participate in the elections. If we came to the US and became citizens, then, as representatives of the Armenian community, we must own our rights and speak out. She both provides grants and gives hope to the Armenian community, saying that we are important; the Armenian community in Los Angeles is important,” Bozoyan said.

According to her, Kathryn Barger is a supporter and friend of the Armenian people on both international and local platforms.

“These days, the most important issue we are following is the issue of Artsakh. Last week, Kathryn Barger introduced a resolution on the release of prisoners, which was sent to President Biden. The resolution demanded the immediate release of all prisoners held in Azerbaijan, including former officials. She deals not only with local and community issues but also focuses on protecting the sovereignty of Armenia, the rights of Armenia and Artsakh, as well as the issue of holding Azerbaijan’s government accountable,” Bozoyan concluded.
