‘Let people live. Do you want us to leave Armenia?’ – Kasakh residents continue their boycott

Earlier today, residents of Kasakh village attempted to block the Yerevan-Ashtarak highway, but police intervened to prevent them. The protesters demand the return of Route No. 59, which connects Kasakh to Yerevan.
“Let people live. Do you want us to leave Armenia? It was the common people who defended this land, not the wealthy, not the sons of officials. Leave us alone—what do you want from us?” said one of the protesters.
Another resident emphasized that if the issue remains unresolved, the number of demonstrators will double.
“Our demand is simple: we just want our transportation to keep operating. Nothing more. Our community is large enough that even three vehicles could function efficiently, and this would certainly be beneficial,” a Kasakh village resident told reporters.
As previously reported, on April 9, residents of Proshyan and Kasakh villages met with government officials to discuss transportation issues affecting their communities. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Prime Minister’s Office, the Head of the Transportation Department of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, as well as a representative from the Municipality.
