Levon Aronian reaches semifinals of American Cup 2024

Two Armenian chess players Levon Aronian and Samuel Sevian are participating in the American Cup 2024.

According to Armenpress, Levon Aronian, the former leader of the Armenian men’s chess team, who now plays under the US flag, reached the semifinals of the American Cup, where he will play with Fabianu Caruana. After two games with a 1-1 draw, Samuel Sevian was defeated by Aronian in the quarterfinals.

The American Cup 2024 is being held March 12–21 in St. Louis, USA. The total prize fund is $250,000.
