Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian, former captain of the national team, secured third place at the final stage of the prestigious Grand Chess Tour.

In the semifinals, Aronian narrowly lost to American chess player Fabiano Caruana with a score of 13-15. However, in the bronze medal match, he confidently defeated India’s Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa with a score of 20-8. As a result, Aronian has secured his spot in the next season of the Grand Chess Tour.

The winner of the tournament’s tenth anniversary season was Fabiano Caruana. This marks the American’s second Grand Chess Tour title—he previously won in 2023.
