Hezbollah is not considering handing over its weapons to the Lebanese army in the near future due to the threat of aggression from Israel, said Hezbollah’s Ali Mokdad.
“The Resistance’s ‘dictionary’ does not include the transfer of weapons to Hezbollah, as the country has been under constant threat from Israel for 70 years and needs protection,” said Ali Mokdad.
Alpha News spoke with George Grigoryan, the communications director of the ARF Central Committee in Lebanon, on this topic.
“Revising the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon is a complex issue. First, the Israeli army controls not only the disputed points on the border, but also many areas within Lebanon’s internationally recognized borders. At the same time, the Israeli Air Force and drones are striking urban areas in southern Lebanon. There are areas in the suburbs of the capital Beirut and in southern Lebanon that have been obliterated by Israeli attacks,” he said.
Grigoryan noted that today the main problem is maintaining the ceasefire.
“The Lebanese side has always been ready to discuss issues of protecting the country and the people. The top priority is to observe the ceasefire,” George Grigoryan emphasized.
