The Episcopal Assembly will take place, and everything regarding the location and date remains the same, Fr. Yesayi Artenyan, Director of the Information Service of the Mother See, said in an interview with Alpha News.
Earlier, in response to a question about whether the Episcopal Assembly would be held, Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II gave a brief reply: “Yes!”
When asked whether the Assembly would be held without those bishops who are members of the Supreme Spiritual Council but are currently prohibited from leaving the country, Father Yesayi said: “Naturally, they cannot participate.”
At the invitation of the Catholicos of All Armenians, the Episcopal Assembly is scheduled to take place February 16–19 in St. Pölten, Austria.
