Macron meets with Erdogan, stresses importance of signing Armenia-Azerbaijan peace treaty as soon as possible

French President Emmanuel Macron, during his meeting with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan on July 11 within the NATO summit in Washington, stressed the importance of signing a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan as soon as possible, the official website of the French Presidency reports.

Macron, in particular, reiterated his support for the ongoing dialogue between Armenia and Azerbaijan with the aim of concluding a peace treaty. He noted that it could open a new page in the region.

He reaffirmed France’s readiness to develop a positive bilateral agenda with Turkey.
