The member of the Glendale City Council Elen Asatryan has told Alpha News that there are some Armenian communities in the US that do not take active actions in support of Artsakh.

“The elected person does not care where he lives, he always looks at what he has to lose, especially when he seeks reelection. We have many friends among members of the Congress, who are not so active in the struggle for the people of Artsakh, especially the Armenian community in New York,” she said.

According to Asatryan, the establishment of relations with non-Armenian organizations also matters.

She believes that the Diaspora Armenians can make their voices heard by cooperating with non-Armenian organizations.

“Armenians here can make their voices heard by cooperating with non-Armenian organizations. It doesn’t matter what party you belong to or what interests you have, if you want to change something for the benefit of Artsakh, you should negotiate with the organizations that make the decision,” Asatryan said.
