Marat Sevoyan appointed head of Yerevan’s Nor Nork administrative district

By the decision of Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan, Marat Sevoyan has been appointed head of Yerevan’s Nor Nork administrative district, Mayor’s Press Secretary Hayk Kostanyan reports.

Previously, on May 19, Tigran Ter-Margaryan resigned from his position as head of the district.

On April 30, Ter-Margaryan, along with the municipality employees, severely beat activist Artur Chakhoyan. Chakhoyan, who sustained injuries, was detained and then taken from the police station to the hospital. He was later released. The incident occurred after Chakhoyan claimed to have uncovered a corruption scheme related to the construction of a kindergarten. Yerevan City Hall reacted to the incident, noting that violence in any form is unacceptable.
