On September 13, Uruguayan actor Marcel Keoroglián spoke about the Armenian Genocide and Azerbaijan’s blockade of Artsakh in the PH Uruguay program of journalist Gonzalo Cammarota.

“We all know that Uruguay was the first country to support the Armenians in recognition of the Genocide. However, the Turkish embassy has been opened here recently. It really shocked me, especially when the Turks asked to open their embassy on April 24, the day when we commemorate the Armenian Genocide in Uruguay and around the world. They were allowed to do it, because Uruguay has a free trade zone. I understand we all have to sell what we produce, but there are things that should not be sold,” Keoroglián said.

He also commented on the Armenians of Artsakh: “A few months ago they were forced to hibernate without gas. Today, food and humanitarian aid are not allowed to pass through. People start to die of hunger. Artsakh is surrounded by Turkiye and Azerbaijan, which are the same. They are forcing the Armenian population – 120,000 people – to die, and the world turns a blind eye.”
