‘May the Holy Mother of God continue to inspire our mothers and sisters’ — Catholicos of All Armenians

Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II has shared a congratulatory message in celebration of the Feast of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary and the Day of Motherhood and Beauty.

“On the occasion of the Feast of the Annunciation, we send from the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin our patriarchal blessing and best wishes to all our faithful people, particularly to the women.

The Gospel episode of the Annunciation brings us the joyous news of the Savior’s arrival into the world and portrays the humble, obedient and faithful image of the Blessed Virgin Mary, who became a blessed testament to devotion to God and has been a good example for Armenian women throughout the ages.

On this day of spiritual renewal in our churches, we bless the women who are expecting the joy of motherhood. May the birth of new children strengthen our nation, and may our sons grow with God’s blessing, under the loving care of their parents, in the spirit of faith and devotion to the Motherland. May they also be nurtured in accordance with the values of national identity.

May the Blessed Virgin continue to be an inspiration to our mothers and sisters—a beacon of hope in God and a source of all virtues,” the Catholicos’ message reads.
