Meeting of bishops and diocesan leaders held at Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin

On November 25, under the chairmanship of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, a meeting of bishops and diocesan leaders of Armenia was convened at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.

The meeting addressed the recent deliberate refusal by certain clergymen to mention the names of the Catholicos of All Armenians and the diocesan primate during the Divine Liturgy. The bishops condemned this practice, noting that from a church perspective it is uncanonical and may lead to schism.

It was emphasized that such actions are subject to severe punishment unless the clergyman repents and corrects his uncanonical behavior.

The meeting underscored the importance of the clergy maintaining a spirit of unity for the stability and continued strengthening of our Holy Armenian Apostolic Church, rather than engaging in divisive actions or provocations.
