Metaxe Hakobyan: Now is the real time to serve the people 

When many were competing for a mandate, they realized that it is not about sitting quietly in a comfortable office, but rather working and serving people, Artsakh MP Metaxe Hakobyan told Alpha News, adding that now is the real time to provide the service.

“I can’t speak for other MPs, but I am sure that there are people who try to exercise their powers no matter what. For example, I have decided that I should find those displaced compatriots who are now in a difficult situation and help them. When many were competing for a mandate, they realized that it is not about having fun or sitting quietly in a comfortable office, but rather working and providing service to the people. Now is the real time to serve the people,” the Artsakh MP said.

Metaxe Hakobyan noted that there were difficulties in seeking refuge.

“When we all arrived in the Republic of Armenia, we, like everybody else, had accommodation problems. People were trying to find shelter wherever they could. Then we started looking for each other. When I went to the representative office of Artsakh, there were no people there. It is clear that they have a function to perform, regardless of the disaster that happened. Responsibility is not a salary or a comfortable office. Many have returned to their jobs, though on a public basis,” Hakobyan said.
