Mher Garagashyan: The Canadian Armenian community canceled all New Year’s events out of respect for the people of Artsakh

Educator and publicist Mher Garagashyan announced live on Alpha News that all New Year’s events in the Canadian Armenian community have been cancelled.

“The loss of Artsakh had a terrible impact on all of us. It was unbelievable. All New Year’s events in the Armenian community of Canada have been canceled, not only because there is no mood but also out of respect for our people, who are going through such things,” Garagashyan said.

He noted that the Armenian community also organized a fundraiser to support the people of Artsakh.

“A fundraiser has been organized. All associations and organizations of the community participate in it. The goal is to help the displaced people. The New Year can be celebrated without festive excitement; you can sit and think about what happened. Fundraising is in progress; as far as I know, the Armenian Relief Society has already sent a portion to Armenia,” Garagashyan said.

He also mentioned that Pashinyan’s statements about Artsakh will be followed by a new disaster, this time related to the territory of Armenia.
