The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia has published the requirements for receiving pensions and allowances.
At the government meeting on October 26, it was decided to take forcibly displaced persons from Artsakh under temporary protection.
According to the law, they are entitled to a pension and an allowance if they meet the requirements established by the legislation of the Republic of Armenia.
That is, regardless of whether they received a pension or an allowance in Artsakh or not, forcibly displaced Artsakh citizens will be entitled to a pension or an allowance in the Republic of Armenia in accordance with the procedure established by the legislation of the country.
To ensure the right of our compatriots to receive pensions or allowances in the Republic of Armenia, legislative changes were introduced that will clarify the procedures for exercising this right. The changes will also be introduced to software systems to ensure the appropriate information base.
A platform will be created in the near future that will allow individuals forcibly displaced from Artsakh to submit online applications for a pension (if they received a pension in Artsakh), a one-time allowance for the birth of a child, maternity benefits, and care benefits.
If they did not receive a pension in Artsakh, then they must personally apply to any local department of the Unified Social Service to receive a pension in Armenia.
The Ministry promises to provide further details about the procedure soon.
Registration at the address of residence in Armenia is mandatory for applying for a pension or an allowance.
This means that persons forcibly displaced from Artsakh, before applying for a pension or an allowance, must be registered at the address of the place where they currently reside. Otherwise, their applications will be rejected.
