Moscow and Yerevan continue a multifaceted political dialogue, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said in a press briefing on Thursday.
According to her, the leaders of the two countries are in constant contact, and the Armenian prime minister has recently accepted an invitation to visit Moscow to participate in celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the Victory. “Consultations of the deputy foreign ministers of the two countries have recently taken place: intergovernmental and inter-parliamentary mechanisms are active, interdepartmental cooperation is underway, a round table was held addressing the issues of the agro-industrial complex. There are initiatives in the cultural, educational and humanitarian spheres. Next month, the Armenian delegation is scheduled to visit the Sirius Educational Center to accelerate the opening of the Russian educational center for gifted children in Jermuk,” the diplomat said.
Armenia, she said, has traditionally supported and co-authored most Russian resolutions on combating the glorification of Nazism. Zakharova added that there are still “unresolved moments” that need to be addressed to prevent any damage to bilateral relations, and these issues are currently under discussion.
Zakharova added that Moscow believes that Yerevan feels the practical benefits of active participation in the Eurasian integration project and realizes its importance for the country’s social and economic development.
