Armenian MP Vilen Gabrielyan from the Civil Contract Party has announced his decision to resign from his parliamentary mandate.

“I consider the so-called incidents with my participation that took place in the city of Gyumri last Sunday to be unworthy of a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia. The NA member in his mission is obliged to uphold appropriate conduct.

In light of this, I publicly apologize to everyone and officially declare my decision to relinquish my parliamentary mandate. I will submit the application to the National Assembly Staff today, in accordance with the proper procedures,” he said on Facebook.
