The Museum of Russian Art will display the exhibition ‘Knight of Art: Aram Abramyan’ on May 29 to mark the 125th anniversary of the founder of the museum, doctor, professor and USSR State Prize laureate Aram Abramyan and the 40th anniversary of the Museum of Russian Art.

The exhibition will showcase the life of the professor as well as the history of the museum through photographs, documents and personal belongings.

The museum opens the exhibition on May 29 in connection with the fact that Aram Abramyan, in the ranks of Armenia’s separate cavalry corps, fought for Sarigamish, Gharakilis, Alexandropol, and Kars during the heroic battles of May, as well as participated in the legendary Sardarapat battle. The tragic events prompted the young patriot to choose one of the most humanistic professions, he became a doctor.
