Folk songs are the genetic memory of the people, their history and life, singer Nazeli Grigoryan, better known as Ashugh Nazeli, said in an interview with Alpha News.

“My only goal during visits to any country with an Armenian Diaspora is to promote and spread folk and ashugh songs. I want to show that even today there are creators who continue the work of the classical ashughs. Folk songs are the thinking of the Armenian people, their phonology, sound shades and accents, their labor, and, in general, the history and life of the people. This is a very serious culture,” Grigoryan said.

According to her, national song art will never lose its significance: it has always preserved and will continue to preserve the Armenian people.
