The Paris city hall and the Catholic organization L’Œuvre d’Orient jointly organized an open-air exhibition entitled “Nagorno-Karabakh: Armenian Heritage at Risk” at the famous Place de la Bastille in Paris, the Armenian Embassy in France reported.
At the core of the exhibition are 30 exclusive photos representing the Armenian historical and cultural heritage of Artsakh. The exhibition will last until January 15.
In her opening remarks, Armenian Ambassador to France Hasmik Tolmajian thanked the Paris city hall and the Catholic organization for their constant support of Armenia and the Armenian people, stressing that the opening of the exhibition is another show of this solidarity.
The Ambassador noted that following the ethnic cleansing in Artsakh, Azerbaijan is currently taking steps to eliminate traces of the Armenian presence in the country, as clearly evidenced by the churches and monuments shown in the photos. She underscored the importance of international efforts towards the popularization and preservation of the Armenian historical and cultural heritage of Artsakh.
The opening of the exhibition was attended by Vice-Mayors of Paris Arnaud Ngatcha and Carine Rolland; President of the Catholic organization L’Œuvre d’Orient, Jean-Yves Tolot; Director General of the organization, Catholic Prelate Pascal Gollnisch; as well as Representative of Artsakh in France, Hovhannes Gevorgian.
