Armenia national team and Lokomotiv Moscow left-back Nair Tiknizyan said that he considers being overly emotional towards referees one of his main problems.
“I am good with referees. These are all emotions, but in any case, emotions cannot justify such behavior. Today this is my main problem; I need to deal with it as soon as possible. For me, referees are very important in football. They have an extremely unfair profession: you can do pretty well for 89 minutes, but on the 90th you make a mistake, which will become a topic of discussion.
Yes, I find myself making disrespectful remarks towards the referees during matches. It happens because the thing that I like makes me overwhelmed with emotions. After the game I came up several times and tried to explain my behavior. Many referees in Russia treat me well. They know my character. Some can calm me down right during the match and say – either you calm down or you will get punished. I appreciate such a human approach,” Tiknizyan told Match TV.
