ARF Supreme Body member Igor Sargsyan has been detained, MP Ishkhan Saghatelyan said in an interview with Alpha News.
“I believe they are preparing a petition for his arrest. A total of 14 individuals have been detained—supporters of the Holy Struggle movement, ARF, and other opposition members,” Ishkhan Saghatelyan said.
In the morning, the ARF Supreme Body of Armenia reported that illegal searches have been carried out at the residences of ARF Supreme Body member Igor Sargsyan, ARF Abovyan Committee member Vardan Avagyan, Hrazdan Committee member Artashes Hunanyan, and Noyemberyan Committee member Varazdat Amiraghyan.
Ishkhan Saghatelyan described these actions as unlawful.
“These are fabricated accusations, they have made them up—a big show and a plan to maintain power, establish a one-party or one-man dictatorship, suppress and intimidate people. This is an unlawful process that will not go without consequences. You cannot fabricate charges against so many people using prearranged plans and records. They themselves created the coup scenario, published it themselves, and are now making arrests based on it. It should not be taken seriously—this is simply groundwork for these detentions.
In fact, they are the ones who violated the constitutional order, and if the National Security Service is interested in the security of our country, it should first of all arrest Nikol Pashinyan for undermining the constitutional order and other illegal actions. This is political lawlessness aimed at destroying all opposition centers in the country,” he said.
