New charge brought against Gyumri Mayor

Gyumri Mayor Vardan Ghukasyan has been charged for the third time in connection with statements he made recently in the Anti-Corruption Court.
The first charge was brought by the Anti-Corruption Committee in a bribery case. The second was filed by the Investigative Committee of Armenia for remarks he made about the authorities during a conversation with journalists on September 16. The third charge is related to statements Ghukasyan made in the Anti-Corruption Court in recent days.
According to the Investigative Committee, during the preliminary investigation of a criminal case involving two individuals, a case was initiated under the article “hooliganism.” The second defendant is Spartak Ghukasyan.
