Armenian Tigran Gambaryan worked in the US law enforcement agencies. The Nigerian government summoned him to their country and arrested him. Alpha News talked about this matter with Los Angeles County Assistant Head Deputy Rouman Ebrahim.
“Tigran had worked as an investigator in the US tax field for more than 10 years. He was quite famous in the US. He was able to recover billions of stolen money and return it to the government and the people from whom the money was stolen.
At the airport in Nigeria, Tigran’s passport was taken away from him, and he was kept in a room for about a month. After that, a court case was in,” he said.
He said Tigran was held in a prison where terrorists and murderers are being held.
“Tigran was held in the worst prison in Nigeria, where murderers and terrorists are being held. Before that, Tigran had no problems, but now he cannot stand on his feet, he has numerous health problems. He was not given any help. The Nigerian government does not give anyone the right to visit Tigran.
In my opinion, they think that there were money laundering cases in Nigeria in which Tigran was involved, and they want this money back. Tigran did not commit any offenses; on the contrary, his job was to expose those offenses. Tigran is just being held captive,” Rouman Ebrahim said.
