No normal person can deny Armenian Genocide – Vitaly Milonov

Speaking with Alpha News, Russian MP Vitaly Milonov commented on the attempts by Armenian authorities to deny the Armenian Genocide. According to the MP, any attempt to play along with Turkey ends with Turkey winning.

“No normal person can deny the established fact of the Genocide of the Armenian people by the Ottoman Empire in 1915. It is an obvious fact. I don’t believe anyone with reason or conscience could do so. I think any attempt to play along with Turkey ends with Turkey winning. So it’s unlikely that it will do anything to improve relations with Turkey.

Building relations with Turkey in this context can only be done in a way that is detrimental to Armenia, by compromising its identity. It is impossible to erase the past or abandon history. You can ignore it or attempt to distort it, but history remains a chain of events and facts that cannot be undone. You may choose not to acknowledge them or falsely claim they never happened, but they remain part of reality, and attempts to act within a framework that distorts historical truth lead only to collapse, significant problems, and misunderstandings,” Milonov said.
