Turkey’s special representative for the normalization of relations with Armenia, Serdar Kılıç, responded to a RIA Novosti inquiry by stating that there has been no progress in opening the Armenian-Turkish border.
“There is no progress on this issue,” he said.
Speaking about the date of the next negotiations with the Armenian side, Kılıç said Turkey wants to develop the process and supports contacts with Armenia. He clarified that no specific date has been set for the talks at this time.
It should be noted that a trilateral panel discussion on South Caucasus issues will be held in Antalya on April 12 with the participation of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia—Ararat Mirzoyan, Jeyhun Bayramov and Maka Bochorishvili.
According to several Azerbaijani media outlets, Kılıç also highlighted the need to amend the Armenian Constitution.
“Nikol Pashinyan also made a statement about changing the Constitution. In this context, Armenia should make the necessary changes to its Constitution,” he said.
