Azerbaijan expressed protest to Russia over damage to its embassy in Kyiv, allegedly caused by a Russian missile strike.
Russian Ambassador Mikhail Evdokimov was summoned to Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry, where he was told that this was not the first time missiles had landed near the diplomatic mission, raising suspicions of possible deliberate targeting.
According to Azerbaijan’s foreign ministry, an Iskander missile fell on the embassy grounds, completely destroying part of the fence and damaging buildings, official vehicles, administrative offices, and the consular section. The ambassador was handed a note of protest.
Baku demanded that Moscow conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and provide explanations. In addition, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev discussed the situation in a phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
