NSS: Five suspects arrested for plotting terror attack

As a result of the complex investigative measures and operational activities of the Armenian National Security Service, five suspects were arrested for plotting a terror attack.

According to the statement of the National Security Service, the five suspects plotted a terror attack as well as the seizure of government buildings and murder.

Firearms and ammunition, a drone and two gas cylinders supposedly intended as attachment, body armor, military fatigues, handcuffs, surveillance devices, computers, mobile phones, communication devices, ten unused SIM cards of Armenian and Russian communications operators, papers outlining the preparations for the terror attack, and other items were found in the apartments of the suspects.

For the successful implementation of the attack, the suspects planned to purchase first-aid supplies in advance as well as move their family members to Georgia.

The investigation is underway to identify accomplices of the suspects.
