Opening of Armenia’s borders with Turkey and Azerbaijan will bring Europe and Central Asia closer than ever — Ursula von der Leyen

President of the European Commission of the European Union (EU), Ursula von der Leyen, said at the European Union-Central Asia Summit that the opening of Armenia’s borders with Turkey and Azerbaijan will bring Europe and Central Asia closer together like never before, Azerbaijani media reported.

According to her, this corridor will play a key role in strengthening ties between Europe and the five Central Asian countries.

She noted that opening Armenia’s borders with Turkey and Azerbaijan after 30 years could fundamentally change the situation.

“This will change the game. This will bring Europe and Central Asia closer than ever before,” she said.
