OSCE Minsk Group ceased its work only because of French and American co-chairs – Maria Zakharova

The OSCE Minsk Group ceased its work in February 2022 only due to the fault of the French and American co-chairs, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said in a press briefing, commenting on the Armenian authorities’ intention to appeal to the OSCE on the dissolution of the Minsk Group.
“Despite the mandate, without any consultations, advice, or communication, they refused contacts with the Russian co-chair and canceled all previously scheduled events. They have not even voiced their reasons yet. Basically, it (the OSCE Minsk Group) ended there. I would also remind you events of October 6, 2022 in Prague, a joint statement of the President of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia, the President of France and the Head of the European Council was adopted. All this led to the fact that the OSCE Minsk Group simply lost its subject matter,” Zakharova noted.
