Ashot Farsyan, coordinator of the “Our Way” movement’s economic program, outlined the main steps for Armenia’s economic development in an interview with Alpha News. The economic plan, titled “Samvel Karapetyan’s Five Steps Toward a Strong Armenia”, includes creating 300,000 new jobs, offering tax incentives, and establishing a new investment environment.

When asked whether the country with the smallest budget in the region can afford such ambitious programs, Farsyan emphasized that the key to success lies not in direct government spending, but in creating the right conditions.

“In reality, the issue is not the budget, but competent and properly directed work. Investments will not be made using state budget funds. The role of the state will mainly be in organizing and guaranteeing work. The government must develop infrastructure, simplify administration, and provide tax incentives,” he stressed.

One of the program’s central points is the creation of 300,000 jobs, of which 80,000 will be in manufacturing industries (textiles and food production), and 20,000 in the IT sector. According to Farsyan, the main goal of the program is to replace imports with local production and to stimulate exports.

“We need to change the structure of the economy. Armenia must become a preferred destination for investors who want to export to the Eurasian Economic Union, Arab countries, or North Africa,” he said.
