86 victims of the explosion at a fuel depot on September 25 are currently undergoing treatment at the National Burn Center, more than 20 of them are in critical condition, Director of the National Center for Burns and Dermatology Hovhannes Hovhannisyan said.

“All the victims have been identified. Most of them are in serious condition. There are also patients in critical condition who are in intensive care, but everyone is conscious. One of the patients is a woman, the rest are men,” he noted.

The center takes care of the nutrition and clothing of patients. Special appliances are allocated for the correct and easy organization of the treatment process.

Hovhannisyan noted that some patients sustained extensive burns on the face and limbs, while others suffered from small but deep burns which require surgical intervention.

The National Burn Center reported that the severity of patients’ condition would be assessed late in the afternoon.
