Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, in his Facebook post, apologized to Anna Hakobyan, noting that he respects Anna’s decision. According to Pashinyan, Hakobyan had been his support and pillar for 30 years, something he cannot say about himself.
Hakobyan, in her social media post, announced that her marriage with the Prime Minister had ended, clarifying that her previous statement meant the end of their shared life, not a formal registration at the registry office.
“Although there was some confusion because I mentioned civil marriage. I said it that way because we have no other kind of marriage.
Today I am leaving the government residence… I do not have my own home… Therefore, I am moving into a rented apartment. And in case people claim that I am a dollar millionaire, that I have offshore accounts, palaces, and so on, I find it necessary to say that the money in my bank account is what remained from the sale of a house — I don’t remember the exact figure, because I never pay attention to such things; part of it was spent on personal needs…
I also have funds on my card accumulated from my salary at the ‘My Step’ Foundation and from income tax refunds. So, farewell — until we meet again. I don’t want to say ‘I love you all,’ because in my opinion, love is not something to be spoken about, but something shown through actions: care and attention directed toward the beloved.
I believe that, at least during these nearly eight years, the foundation of my actions was only love and care for you and for the state. May God protect all of us, may God protect the Republic of Armenia,” she said.
