The European Parliament’s resolution must become a topic of discussion in Armenia, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the government session.

The European Parliament adopted a resolution on closer ties between the EU and Armenia and the need for a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan the day before.

“The resolution expresses unwavering support for Armenia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence on the basis of the 1991 Alma-Ata Protocol and expresses support for peace efforts between Armenia and Azerbaijan. With this resolution, the European Parliament has documented Armenia’s achievements in democracy, rule of law, and fight against corruption, which is extremely important for the international perception of our country,” Pashinyan said.

According to him, this is a new occasion to discuss the vision of Armenia’s future.

“I hope political forces, public organizations, various layers of society, and citizens of Armenia will express their attitude to this message from the European Parliament, as such messages need a much broader response than the government or the parliamentary majority. At the same time, I must express the will of the Armenian government to continue the work on further development of Armenia-EU relations,” he added.
