Speaking with Alpha News, Semyon Bagdasarov, Director of the Center for the Study of the Middle East and Central Asia, commented on Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s attack on the church. According to the expert, Nikol Pashinyan and his team’s latest aggressive attack on the Armenian Apostolic Church is due to the fact that the current authorities are enemies of Christianity.

“The Armenian Apostolic Church has played the role of the backbone of the Armenian people throughout history. It is understandable why this particular couple is so hostile towards the hierarchs of the AAC—they are enemies of Christianity, in particular the Armenian Apostolic Church. In Armenia, 10% of the population today are sectarians, and it is no secret what the Word of Life sect represents. This is a satanic, anti-Christian sect, which is essentially anti-Armenian. Mr. Pashinyan and his wife hate the Armenian Church and Christianity in general. This is why he makes offensive attacks. Insulting church hierarchs in a vulgar manner is their level, and people in Armenia must understand who governs them,” Bagdasarov said.

According to the expert, Pashinyan is ready to surrender everything to his enemies simply to stay in power.

“Pashinyan is a traitor, he capitulates to historical enemies—Turkey and Azerbaijan. He is ready to surrender everything that can be surrendered to them only to remain in power, because the loss of power is terrible for him. And I hope this will happen if the opposition can attract its people and the Armenian people understand that Pashinyan is an enemy of the Armenian people. He betrays the memory of the victims of the Genocide, he betrays the memory of the history of Armenia, rejecting everything related to Western Armenia,” Bagdasarov noted.
