Speaking with Alpha News, public figure Levon Mukanyan commented on Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s statement on the need to re-examine the question of the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire.

“We have all witnessed yet another fact that the leader of Armenia, the current modern Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, is a voice of the ideas and dreams of long-standing Turkish and Azerbaijani policies. This goes against the Constitution, the criminal law of Armenia. It is hard to imagine that, for example, the leader of Israel would deny or question the facts of the Holocaust or, let’s say, the leader of Russia would question the outcome of the Great Patriotic War. Therefore, it is a great misfortune for the Armenian people. We should somehow get over it and realize that the leader of Armenia, particularly Nikol Pashinyan, is promoting what the authorities of Turkey and Azerbaijan could not impose on us all these years, although they certainly wanted it.

Therefore, every reasonable person should say that it is unacceptable because, as they say, the temptations of the devil and Satan are great, but the will of man is what matters most. So each of us should say that they do not accept it,” Mukanyan said.
