Speaking with Alpha News, Boris Rozhin, Russian expert at the Center for Military-Political Journalism, commented on the Armenian prime minister’s statement that Armenia considers itself outside the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), and the return “is becoming increasingly difficult, if not impossible.”

“Pashinyan is on the way out of the CSTO but wants to do it in a way that will help him blame Russia and other members of the Organization for Armenia’s withdrawal. It is actually obvious that this is Pashinyan’s general course. This was discussed a long time ago. And he actually saw that this strategy is being successfully implemented. Further, sabotage of any participation of Armenia in the CSTO will continue, as will the adoption of those decisions that make this withdrawal inevitable.

Russia will try to prevent this in one way or another, but if Armenia sabotages this at the state level, there will be very few options to make it more difficult. Moreover, the West is openly pushing Pashinyan to do this. Pashinyan’s task is to withdraw Armenia from the CSTO. And he has already passed part of the way in fulfilling this task. This threatens Armenia with further loss of territory, in particular, the southern territory of Armenia, especially the area between Azerbaijan and Nakhichevan,” Rozhin said.
