Pashinyan ready to resort to any methods to retain power – Hakob Badalyan

The involvement of such a major player in politics naturally causes concern within the current government, political observer Hakob Badalyan told Alpha News, commenting on the creation of a new political force by businessman Samvel Karapetyan.

“This is certainly alarming, given that Nikol Pashinyan has many internal problems—from his rating to his political image and the general image of his team. This is unacceptable, but at the same time, it is understandable why mechanisms such as the involvement of the law enforcement system are used. However, I believe that this should not be a surprise for any force entering the political process. On the contrary, it may sound a little strange, but in such logic, the reaction of the authorities can even be seen as an opportunity for a new player,” Badalyan said.

When asked what Pashinyan is trying to prove by keeping Samvel Karapetyan under arrest, the political observer said, “Obviously, an attempt is being made to show that the situation is completely under his control. Nikol Pashinyan is ready to resort to any methods to retain power and his position.”
