Pashinyan, under European patronage, sacrificed Artsakh for nothing — Tigran Kocharyan

At a press conference on January 26 following the presidential election in Belarus, President Alexander Lukashenko said that the Armenian leadership was to blame for the outcome of the Artsakh war. As Lukashenko noted, he and Putin were perplexed when they heard that Pashinyan recognized Nagorno-Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan.
We talked about this topic with media expert and Alpha News editor-in-chief Tigran Kocharyan.
“Lukashenko is a person who, in a fit of emotion, can say things that other people would not say and prefer to keep to themselves. That’s the impression I have now, because I know the background to the answer to this question well; the question was about something else entirely. But Lukashenko got excited and said what we all heard. It is interesting that what he said was not a revelation. A revelation was in the way he spoke, because Putin once said that it was Pashinyan who recognized Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan, and Lukashenko confirmed this, saying that he called Putin and both of them were baffled over Pashinyan’s decision,” Kocharyan said.
In his speech, he stressed that Artsakh was left without Armenians by Europe’s consent, and it was surrendered for nothing.
“That is, after all this, a number of questions on this topic are closed. First of all, the claim that what Nikol Pashinyan did, he did on Putin’s instructions. Because we have certain opposition experts who still try to convince us that Nikol is Putin’s spy and he does everything in agreement with Putin. And secondly, he said that Aliyev agreed that Armenia should have some influence in Artsakh. That is, there was a certainty about the status of Artsakh. In fact, Nikol Pashinyan, roughly speaking, surrendered Artsakh when the same Aliyev was ready to make certain concessions regarding the status. This once again shows that Nikol Pashinyan did everything at the will of Europe, at the will of Borrell, Macron, and others, and sacrificed Artsakh for nothing. Now we can say that Artsakh was surrendered under the European patronage. And many say that Europe did not keep its promises to Pashinyan,” Kocharyan concluded.
