Pashinyan wants to subjugate Armenian Apostolic Church — Sonya Tashchyan

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan wants to subjugate the Armenian Apostolic Church through his attacks on the clergy, said Sonya Tashchyan, a protester defending the Armenian Apostolic Church outside the government building in Yerevan, in a conversation with Alpha News.

“Pashinyan wants to subjugate the Armenian Apostolic Church. Attacking the church means attacking our national values. I wonder why people are passive when everyone is dissatisfied—why don’t they take to the streets to express their anger? We want a change of government, we want our country to be free from internal and external enemies. This government is leading our country to ruin,” she said.

As reported earlier, a group of citizens staged a protest outside the government building today, demanding that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his wife, Anna Hakobyan, be held accountable for interfering in the affairs of the Armenian Apostolic Church.
